Terms of Service

• “ROBOTRAIN” means the company operating at robotrain.ai and providing data collection and dataset delivery services.
• “Client” means any organisation or individual that enters into a dataset engagement with ROBOTRAIN.
• “Dataset” means any collection of robot demonstration data — including video, depth, telemetry, annotations, and associated metadata — produced or delivered by ROBOTRAIN.
• “Open Dataset” means a dataset published publicly (e.g., on Hugging Face) under an explicit open licence.
• “Services” means ROBOTRAIN's data capture, annotation, quality assurance, packaging, and delivery offerings.
• “Website” means robotrain.ai and any subdomains operated by ROBOTRAIN.

The Website and its content are provided for informational purposes. You agree not to:

• Scrape, index, or reproduce Website content for commercial purposes without written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to ROBOTRAIN systems or networks.
• Use the Website in a manner that violates applicable law or infringes third-party rights.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Website at any time without notice.

Submitting an inquiry form or scheduling a discovery call does not create a binding contract. It initiates a scoping conversation. Any engagement for Services is subject to a separate written agreement (“Statement of Work” or “SOW”) signed by both parties.

Each dataset engagement is governed by an SOW that specifies: task definitions; target episode counts; capture environments; sensor suite; annotation taxonomy; quality thresholds; delivery format (Hugging Face LeRobot format); timeline; pricing; exclusivity period if applicable; and any NDA terms.

Delivery of a dataset release constitutes fulfilment of the deliverable specified in the SOW for that release. Client accepts delivery by written acknowledgement or by silence for 14 calendar days after delivery notification.

Unless an SOW states otherwise:

• Client datasets — upon full payment, ROBOTRAIN assigns to the Client all rights in the raw footage, annotations, and packaged deliverables produced exclusively for that Client under the SOW. ROBOTRAIN retains no right to use Client-exclusive datasets for third parties.
• Shared or open datasets — data produced for shared or open release (including the robtrain-multi-cam-sample series) is licensed by ROBOTRAIN under the terms stated in the dataset repository (currently Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International unless otherwise noted). ROBOTRAIN retains the right to continue publishing and updating open datasets.
• ROBOTRAIN tooling and methods — capture rigs, annotation frameworks, QA pipelines, and processing software remain the exclusive property of ROBOTRAIN regardless of the dataset contract.
• Third-party content — if any capture involves third-party environments or objects with IP considerations, Client is responsible for securing necessary licences for commercial exploitation.

Clients may request an exclusivity period during which ROBOTRAIN will not provide the same task, environment, or sensor configuration to other parties. Exclusivity terms, duration, and any associated premium are specified in the SOW.

Where an NDA is signed, both parties agree to hold the other's Confidential Information in strict confidence, use it only for the purpose of the engagement, and not disclose it to third parties without prior written consent. Standard NDA templates are available on request.

Payment terms are specified in the SOW. ROBOTRAIN typically requires a deposit before capture commences and the balance on delivery. Late payments incur interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum permitted by law, whichever is lower.

Cancellation by the Client after capture has commenced will not entitle the Client to a refund of capture costs already incurred. Cancellation before capture commences may be subject to a cancellation fee as set out in the SOW.

ROBOTRAIN warrants that datasets will materially conform to the specifications in the SOW at the time of delivery. ROBOTRAIN does not warrant that datasets will produce specific model performance outcomes, as training results depend on factors outside our control.

The Website and any open datasets are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROBOTRAIN's total liability to any party for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or any SOW shall not exceed the total fees paid by that party to ROBOTRAIN in the 12 months preceding the claim.

ROBOTRAIN shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost training performance, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ROBOTRAIN from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) Client's use of delivered datasets in a manner inconsistent with these Terms or applicable law; (b) Client's failure to obtain required licences for third-party environments or objects; or (c) Client's breach of any NDA or exclusivity obligation.

These Terms and any SOW are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

ROBOTRAIN may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect 30 days after posting unless you have a signed SOW that expressly incorporates a specific version of these Terms. Continued use of the Website or Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
